Hesse does world-class AI research and builds real deep-tech companies from it — but the connections between the two have lived in scattered databases, press releases, and people’s heads.
aigude is one place that holds the whole picture: the startups, the researchers behind them, the universities that connect them, and the live signals that show where the ecosystem is moving. It exists so an investor, a founder, a researcher, or a journalist can answer “who is doing X in Hesse?” in one query instead of ten.
It is a public good first: built and maintained by hessian.AI, free for ecosystem participants to be listed and found. We publish what we can stand behind, and we mark clearly what is still being built.

Every profile is assembled from public sources and enriched continuously. We don’t sell placement, and we don’t publish numbers we can’t source.
Company register, funding and team signals, cross-checked against company sites.
Papers, authors and affiliations, filtered to the 13 consortium institutions.
Company logos, attributed. No scraping of private or gated material.
The principles we hold
The ~280 startups and their funding are live. Research figures are sample targets, badged “sample · indexing” until the data pipeline lands — never dressed up as complete.
If we don’t track something, the desk says so rather than guessing. Talent and sample profiles use composite names until a real person claims them.
Personal contact details are never exposed. Warm introductions are routed through the hessian.AI office, not published.
Research ingest is filtered by the 13 verified institutional identifiers (ROR), not a hand-kept list of names — so coverage is consistent and auditable.
Anything wrong can be fixed. Write to aisr@hessian.ai and we correct at the source.
